Visit some of the many wineries in the area, most of which have excellent restaurants. The Mission Estate Winery, is the oldest in New Zealand.

Hire a bike and meander along the

kilometres of safe cycle/walkways

along the sea front.

Take a tractor ride along the beach, passing incredible geological faults caused by the 1931 earthquake, to see the largest mainland gannet colony. Gannet Beach Adventures.

You can choose from many golf courses in the area, ranging from the world famous Cape Kidnappers,  - Championship courses at both Napier and Hastings, or a couple of beginner friendly, 9 hole public courses.
